When it comes to picking a baby name, a lot of consideration has to go into any possible nicknames or associations that could cause your little one to be teased, as it's no secret that other kids can be cruel.
One mum is concerned she's currently overthinking the potential ramifications and it's making her not want to use her favourite baby name.
The unnamed parent took to the internet to share how she and her husband have fallen in love with the name Frankie, for a boy or a girl.
However, she's worried that when paired with their surname it would be an unfortunate choice as it sounds a bit too much like the name of an American singer.
Writing on Baby Centre, she explained that their surname is Gallie and together it might sound too much like Frankie Valli.
She posted: "So me and my husband both love the name Frankie for either a boy or girl. It has a strong family link but I'm just not sure we can use it.
"My husband and other members of my family all think it's fine but for me, there is one major reason we can't.
"I'm not sure if I'm overthinking it so wondered if anyone else gets the reason?! Maybe I'm just showing my age!"
People in the comments were divided over the name, with some understanding her issue and others not connecting the dots.
One person said: "Don't know if I'm being oblivious but I don't see any issue? Maybe I'm being totally dippy?! Alternatively use Francesca, Frances, Franklin, etc. with nickname Frankie… would that eliminate whatever the problem is when the name is said in full?"
Another commented: "I immediately thought Frankie Valli. I am a big fan though so perhaps that’s why. I think you'd get that quite a bit."
A third posted: "Maybe not everyone would get it perhaps but it would definitely put me off personally."
A different user added: "Don’t think it’s that big a deal."
