Melissa was taken to intensive care in a coma and was unable to breathe for herself. A GoFundMe campaign has been raised to cover medical costs, as Melissa did not have medical travel insurance.
On Friday (May 19), a message from Melissa's mum was shared on the GoFundMe page.
It said: "So today has been the hardest day of all we found out Melissa was dead for 45 min and is showing sodium on her brain which could be brain damage. They said her best chance of survival was to get her home now.
"I think we have managed to get an air ambulance for the May 24 just putting everything together. We are not giving up and I know she will wake up and we will have a long recovery ahead, but we will look after her, we thank everyone who has supported us in anyway.
"My daughter has the most amazing people in her life who we will never forget what they have done. We love you all .Chloé Mawdsley Rebecca Dath, Gayle Kirkham Heathcote, Jessica Jones Salsabean, Connolly Kelly Heaps, Anna Mawdsley, Stacy Shaw, Coral Keenan, Beccy Davies (Sean), the list is endless.
"We love you all so much and could not do this without you and thank you for every one who has funded us".
The GoFundMe was launched by Melissa's friend Rebecca Dath. It had a target of £45,000 but has now raised over £48,000.
Rebecca said Melissa had complained on social media the day before she collapsed that she thought she may be suffering from heatstroke.
She told the ECHO: "She was vomiting, felt unwell and that was the day before. When she got to the airport, she had a seizure and collapsed. That's been it since, she has been in intensive care on life support in Turkey."
Rebecca added: "Doctors don't know what has caused it, but she has swelling on the brain and swelling on her heart.
"Missy's mum and dad were holidaying in Turkey in another area with Missy's auntie and uncles and cousins. Jay rang her auntie because her heart stopped and her children were there."
