The mum of a six-year-old girl who had to be taken to hospital with an allergic reaction after eating at a pub claims she was told she would only be able to find out how the incident happened if she ‘went to a solicitor’.
Sheridan, who asked to be referred to by her first name only, said she and her daughter Renesmae visited the Railway pub on Bridge Street in Buxton, Derbyshire on Sunday, February 12 with her friend and their child.
The group of four each had a carvery and dessert at the pub, which is run by Manchester-based brewery Joseph Holt. Whilst ordering the food, Sheridan told a staff member that Renesmae was allergic to coconut, which was then noted on the venue’s system.

After eating their food, the group began to make their way back home when Renesmae started having a headache and feeling nauseous. During the 15-minute car ride, Sheridan said her daughter ‘cried all the way home’ because of how uncomfortable she was now feeling.
