A mum has admitted killing her baby daughter after she went into cardiac arrest at her home.
Kelsey Harrison pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Birmingham Crown court on Friday over the death of one-year-old Elaina Rose Aziz in August 2020.
The 25-year-old also admitted a charge of child cruelty in relation to the youngster's death, while Elaina's father Eddo Aziz, 37, also pleaded guilty to the same charge, Birmingham Live reports.
Elaina was rushed to hospital on August 6 after going into cardiac arrest at her home in Nuneaton, but sadly later died after her heart stopped, with police launching an investigation into her death.
In a heartbreaking tribute at the time, the toddler's family said: "Elaina was our little miracle, perfect in every way, and the most loved and adored little princess there could ever be.
"She was beautiful inside and out, with her bouncy soft curls in her masses of hair and the longest of eyelashes.
"Her smile was enough to melt anyone’s heart, and her giggle was so infectious.
“She will forever be in our hearts and minds and will travel with us wherever we may venture until we meet again. Goodnight baby girl."
Both Harrison and Aziz were remanded into custody ahead of sentencing on May 2 - the date when they were due to face trial at Warwick Crown Court in Leamington Spa.
