Recent airstrikes have targeted at least 15 military aircraft at Syria’s Marj Ruhayyil Airbase, as revealed by an analysis of satellite imagery obtained from Planet Labs. The strikes have also impacted the base's infrastructure.
The airbase, situated 18 miles (30 km) south of Damascus, was observed to house a unit of Mi-25 “Hind” helicopters in satellite imagery collected by Planet Labs on December 3, as well as in earlier imagery from Maxar earlier this year.
