The Baltimore Ravens kicked off their first day of joint practices with the Washington Commanders on Tuesday, with physicality and intensity being the major themes of the day. It was an opportunity for both teams to get their starters live-speed action without risking injury in the preseason, to which we saw quarterback Lamar Jackson, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., tight end Mark Andrews and more take the field.
Over the course of practice, both Baltimore and Washington set a tone, which was carried throughout the day. There were multiple brawls that ensued, with two major ones happening between the Ravens’ offense and the Commanders defense. The first one involved Baltimore wide receiver Tylan Wallace and Washington rookie cornerback Emmanuel Forbes, with punches exchanged on both sides.

Following that skirmish, Ravens tight end Mark Andrews got into a dust-up with Commanders CB Danny Johnson. Andrews didn’t take kindly to a hit he took during a play, running up to Johnson and body slamming him in the process.

Baltimore and Washington will square off again for the second and final day of their joint practices on Wednesday, where the intensity will surely carry over from what transpired on Tuesday.
