MSU head coach Jonathan Smith provides injury update out of Ohio State game

For the first time in a while, there’s some good news on the injury front for the Spartans.

Michigan State head coach Jonathan Smith provided a positive injury update out of the Spartans’ loss to Ohio State this past weekend. During his weekly press conference on Monday, Smith noted that the Spartans didn’t experience any “long-term” injuries in the loss against the Buckeyes.

Michigan State has been fighting the injury bug all season long, with numerous critical injuries popping up week after week. However, that was not the case in the 38-7 loss to Ohio State so that’s certainly some good news.

Michigan State has dropped its last two games and now sits at 3-2 overall and 1-1 in Big Ten play this year. The Spartans will look to bounce back this week in a tough road game at Oregon.

Kickoff between the Spartans and Ducks is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET on Friday. The game will be televised on FOX.
