Michigan State football is one of 10 teams to remain in the hunt for arguably the top cornerback prospect in the 2024 class.
Jaylen Mbakwe of Pinson, Ala. released his top 10 schools list on Sunday, which included the Spartans. Michigan State was joined by Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida State and Louisville.
Mbakwe is ranked as the No. 22 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2024 class. He’s also marked as the No. 3 cornerback and top player from Alabama.
Mbakwe holds offers from more than 25 programs — so it’s good news for the Spartans to be listed in his top 10. We’ll see if the Spartans can remain in the hunt for this elite prospect over time.
