MSU AD Alan Haller responds to Big Ten not issuing any discipline in MSU-UM incident

There will be no punishment for either school in the Michigan State-Michigan postgame incident this past weekend.

The Big Ten announced on Tuesday it will essentially proceed with no punishment for either program. There were rumors and accusations that a Michigan player was stomping on a Michigan State staffer and player on the ground. However, the Big Ten determined there was not enough evidence for the league to enact any punishments.

This, of course, elicited a response from Michigan State. Shortly after the Big Ten released its statement, Spartans athletic director Alan Haller released the following statement:

“Regardless of whether I agree with the Big Ten’s decision, their decision is final. I will continue to work to make sure our student-athletes, coaches and staff are treated fairly.”

Michigan State came up short on the field in the rivalry game against the Wolverines, losing 24-17. Michigan State turns its focus to Indiana this week.
