MSC Cruises designs new ship to tempt the American palate

With its new MSC World America ship set to begin sailing from Miami in April 2025 offering cruises to the Caribbean, MSC Cruises aims to blend its elegant European design with American comfort for a new style of cruising.

Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, MSC Cruises is one of the world’s largest cruise lines. Focused on accelerating its growth in the U.S. market, the cruise line is evolving its World Class ship platform, designing its newest ship specifically for the U.S. market.

In planning MSC World America, the cruise line took a look at the bars and lounges developed for sister ship MSC World Europa and enhanced them to deliver more of what American passengers want.

But when they say American comfort, they don’t mean just beer paired with burgers and fries.

MSC World America will feature new bar concepts,

For some venues, delivering what American passengers want meant overhauling menus with upscale cocktails, more bourbons, gin from craft American distilleries, and American-style beers.

MSC Cruises also developed completely new concepts like the fleet’s first comedy club and a sports bar where passengers can watch their favorite teams at sea.

The new and reimagined bars, lounges, and cafés onboard MSC World America include:

All-Stars Sports Bar: In this lively new space, passengers can grab a drink and watch the game while enjoying food like wings and sliders. All-Stars Sports Bar will offer signature sports bar games including interactive darts, digital shuffleboard and foosball, and feature a large terrace with ocean views.

Masters of the Seas: A signature British-style pub, Masters of the Seas will feature MSC Cruises’ second full-scale micro-brewery at sea, offering a newly-developed range of signature beers from brewmaster Teo Musso of Baladin Brewery—an American-style lite beer, IPA and Pilsner—that are made from desalinated seawater.

The new beers are brewed using recipes tailored to American beer drinkers’ tastes and will feature American hops. Plus, guests looking for authentic Miami flavor can order up beer from South Florida’s celebrated Cervecería La Tropical.
