MS Dhoni's helicopter, Ravindra Jadeja's sword! Have Chennai Super Kings announced their retained players before the deadline?

NEW DELHI: As the IPL 2025 retention deadline nears, excitement builds around team decisions, with the spotlight especially on five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and their top retention picks.

CSK recently stirred up fan speculation with a cryptic post on social media.

CSK's post read: "The Ones You Seek is Seeking You!" accompanied by emojis like a helicopter, sword, star, and rocket, which quickly went viral.

Social media analysts interpreted the symbols as possible hints about CSK’s retention choices.

Fan predictions lean towards a lineup featuring Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Matheesha Pathirana, MS Dhoni, and Rachin Ravindra.

Dhoni, who has indicated he plans to continue in the IPL, has the full support of CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan, who expressed enthusiasm about Dhoni’s readiness for another season.

Finalizing the retention list will involve Dhoni meeting with franchise owner N. Srinivasan.

At a recent event, Dhoni reflected on savoring his remaining years in the sport.

“I just want to enjoy whatever last few years of cricket I am able to play," he said.

"When you play cricket as a profession, it’s hard to enjoy it just like a game. That’s my aim now. The emotions and commitments are intense, but I want to find joy in the game for the next few years. I need to stay fit for nine months to play those two and a half months of IPL, so I have to plan and still chill a bit,” Dhoni said.
