Mould can build up in all the little gaps of your washing machine drawer and they can be a real menace to get rid of.
Its consistently damp environment makes the washing machine drawer a perfect breeding ground for mouldy spores.
So it is best to stay on top of the cleaning of this compartment to make sure you can blast any mouldy spores or stains right away, and avoid a lot of scrubbing down the line.
To make the task of cleaning the washing machine drawer so much easier, one fan of cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch has shared their top tip.
In a recent post to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group, one person wrote: "Someone earlier put a post on about cleaning washing machine drawers, but can’t find it.
"Seeing as I’ve been cleaning everything recently - my shower is gleaming, my taps are sparkling and limescale free, black streaked toilet now gleaming - I went looking for something else and saw a post that prompted me to clean my washing machine drawer.
"Seeing as I’ve discovered Harpic black (magic) I thought I’d try it. I used an old toothbrush and the dirt just came off and the stubborn stains just disappeared, so would definitely recommend using it."
This product is often marketed as a toilet cleaner but can also tackle mould.
To remove the drawer in order to get it cleaned you should be able to spot a small release tab which will allow it to pop straight out.
Along with the tip, the person posted before and after pictures of using Harpic Power Plus and there is a huge difference in the two.
In the two 'before' pictures the area is completely covered in mould but in those 'after' it looked basically spotless and brand new.
The best bit of the hack is that it can cost you next to nothing as Harpic Power Plus can be picked up for £1.66 in Tesco.
Many people were quick to sing the product's praises in the comments as one wrote: "I used that on mine yesterday, was amazed how new it looks."
While another stated: "Wow that’s brilliant, I’m going to have to try this now."
A third penned: "Amazing job you did there. It is unbelievably clean. I’m going to have to test this out for myself."
