A brand-new wooden coffee table or shiny laminate flooring can really make your living room stand out - but we all know that they're incredibly hard to keep prim and pristine.
The likelihood of a spillage at some point is high, and while you may think a rapid removal will prevent stains - there are some circumstances in which water stains can cause an eyesore.
And while many assume these unpleasantries are impossible to remove, they're not if you're in the know.

The Mirror reports that someone recently took to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page to ask what they could do about unsightly white rings on their once pristine wooden table. They wrote: "Hi guys, any suggestions on how I can get rid of these white drink marks from this light oak coffee table, please?"
The resounding recommendation in the comments was to use a popular condiment - mayonnaise. "Mayonnaise", someone wrote, whilst another, said: "I've read that mayonnaise works", followed by a shrugging emoji.
It turns out that mayo can oust stains completely, because of its oily properties - and it can be bought from Sainsbury's for just 70p.
All you need to do is add a blob of mayonnaise to a microfibre cloth and then dab it directly onto the stain. Once the mayo has covered the marks, cover it up with a paper towel and let it soak in for a couple of hours.
Check it afterward, and if it's removed, just wipe it away. If not, repeat the process, but leave it overnight.
