Mrs Browns Boys fans were surprised to see the beloved Dublin character making an appearance in the trailer for a new Hollywood movie starring Tyler Perry.
Brendan O'Carroll introduces Mrs Brown to the US in a new movie called A Madea Homecoming which is set to be released on Netflix this February.
Tyler Perry will reprise his role as Madea in the film, a character he has played since 1989.
Entertainment Weekly shared teaser images of the upcoming flick, one of which features Mrs Brown being held up by Madea in the character's house.
Another shows Mrs Brown and daughter Cathy (played by Brendan's wife Jennifer Gibney) stood in the bleachers with Madea.
Fans seemed divided online with one person writing on Twitter: "Man we're in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, we have enough pain in our hearts without having to see Mrs Brown and Tyler Perry together."
While another said: "Can't wait to see this, especially Mammy, Mrs Brown’s Boys character making an appearance. This is going to be very funny."
Madea's last appearance on screen was in A Madea Family Funeral in 2019.
Tyler told Entertainment Weekly: "I was looking at the state of the world and how polarised it is… nobody’s laughing.
"Nobody’s getting the chance to belly-laugh anymore. And I’m like, “What tool do I have in my arsenal that can bring that kind of laughter?”"
Speaking about the movie's LGBTQ+ focus, the actor added: "How long does it have to be before you understand something?
"I just think that if everything gets accepted in love, then you get a chance to see the person for who they are rather than what you think they are."
