Victorian MP Will Fowles, who was ousted from the state Labor Party after an assault allegation was made against him, says no one has spoken to him about the claim.
The state's police force revealed last month the Sexual Crimes Squad was investigating the allegation levelled against the Member for Ringwood.
Former premier Daniel Andrews had sought and obtained Mr Fowles' resignation from the parliamentary Party a month after referring the allegations to police.
"It has now been eight weeks since the former premier referred an allegation to Victoria Police," he posted on social media on Saturday.
"I have not been spoken to by anyone regarding this false allegation."
At the time of Mr Fowles' resignation from the party, police had received the government's referral but were not investigating because the alleged victim had not made a formal complaint.
On August 25, they said they were investigating.
Neither the nature of the allegation nor the identity of the alleged victim has been revealed.
Mr Fowles has strenuously denied any allegation of assault.
The MP also advised on Saturday that he has written to the Speaker to tell her he won't be attending parliamentary sitting days "until such time as any investigation concludes".
He continues to work at his electorate office.
