Manchester United and Chelsea-linked Kieran McKenna is expected to sign a new contract and lead Ipswich Town into their first season back in the English Premier League.
McKenna, 38, helped secure Ipswich consecutive promotions against all-odds which has alerted many of the world's top clubs to take notice of the former Manchester United coach.
He was recently honoured as the League Managers Association's Manager of the Year after ending Ipswich's 22-year absence from the English top flight.
And according to reports McKenna is in advanced talks to pen a fresh deal that will see him remain at Portman Road, while becoming one of the highest paid managers in the division.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to appoint Leicester City's Enzo Maresca as their new boss.
It is understood McKenna was on a three-man shortlist for the Chelsea job alongside Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Maresca, who led Leicester to the Sky Bet Championship title.
McKenna has also been associated with the vacant position at Brighton and with Erik ten Hag’s role as the Dutchman’s future remains uncertain despite his team's victory in the Manchester derby FA Cup final on Saturday.
However, Ipswich supporters are likely to receive a significant boost, as their manager is expected to reaffirm his commitment to the club.
He is currently contracted until 2027.
