MOUZ overcome G2 to reach IEM Krakow 2026 semis

MOUZ build upon a successful, but trophyless, 2025 by making it to the IEM Krakow 2026 semifinals over G2. The star-studded squad kept G2 close throughout the series until a dominant showing on the T side of Dust2 helped them close the series out in two maps. MOUZ will now face Vitality in the semifinals.

Overpass – MOUZ take the win in overtime – 16-13

A clean execute onto B, allowed MOUZ a path onto the site, and Spinx hit the key headshots needed to win the round. Spinx was the star for MOUZ early as he stayed alive in the first four rounds, finding eight frags. MATYS answered back in G2’s gun rounds, fortifying the B site. The two teams stayed neck and neck through the half, with malbsMd’s Deagle play helping close a 6-6 half.

MOUZ repeated their pistol success, but were unable to break free in the gunrounds despite finding opening kills. Round 18 saw MOUZ pick up a mandatory gun round, to maintain the tied game and keep their economy alive. HeavyGod instantly answered back, finding two kills to open B, but torzsi made it two in a row for MOUZ as he peppered SunPayus in the 1v1. G2 eventually found matchpoint thanks to MATYS’s triple, but MOUZ extended play with torzsi’s AWP giving the team a 5v3 advantage in round 24.

Connector fights defined much of the early round in Overtime, and MOUZ found consistent advantages, and it took HeavyGod and the bomb timer combining in round 27 to finally give G2 a T side round. Despite the Israeli rifler putting up key kills, MOUZ found the perfect pathing into the sites to close the map out 16-13.

Dust2 – MOUZ’s attack blows G2 out of the server – 13-7

The SunPayus-malbsMd duo started off Dust2 well for G2, converting a pistol into three on the trot. MOUZ, though, answered in the gun rounds, calling aggressive plays to put G2 out of their comfort zone. One such play was Spinx’s tunnels push that caught huNter- off-guard. Brollan’s anchor play from long snatched three lives from G2, and allowed his team to close out another round with ease. But neither team could find a lead in the half as HeavyGod once again put up an incredible 1v3, to guarantee a tied half.

Much like their rivals, MOUZ started their own T side with a pistol conversion. While G2 did steal away the first gun round, MOUZ looked comfortable in their attack plan from that point on. Despite SunPayus’ AWP peppering them across the board, it was Brollan’s troops that opened up bombsites to win four rounds in a row and close out the map.

Editor’s Notes: Another S-Tier tournament, another top four for MOUZ. Alongside their semifinals opponent, Vitality, MOUZ are perhaps the most consistent organization in Counter-Strike today. While G2 was looking red-hot heading into the Spirit series, and gave the Russian side a run for their money too, ultimately MOUZ is a cut above the tier where G2 competes.

G2 can head home with confidence, and throughout this season they look set to be a consistent top 10 squad. For MOUZ, the true challenge awaits them in the Tauron Arena tomorrow. They cracked the Vitality armor at IEM Cologne last year, can they do it again?
