Moussa Dembele recalls 'electrifying' Celtic Euro atmosphere that left him feeling like a gladiator

Former Celtic frontman Moussa Dembele has described feeling "like a gladiator" while playing in the Champions League at Parkhead.

Ange Postecoglou 's side are gearing up for the elite European competition's group stage next campaign.

And the players have an incredible experience ahead of them if Dembele' s description is anything to go by.

The striker made his thoughts known after a fan shared some pre-match footage of Celtic's home clash with Manchester City back in 2016.

Capturing the anticipation prior to the 3-3 draw, one fan took to Twitter to speak about the excitement of what was to come.

And Dembele took the time to reply, reflecting on that oh so special night in Glasgow's east end.

The now Lyon player quoted the Tweet, explaining the electrifying buzz around the stadium when the heroic side took points off Pep Guardiola's City.

"A night I will NEVER EVER forget." Dembele wrote.

"OMG WHAT AN ATMOSPHERE.

"Electrifying but stimulating! I felt like a gladiator entering the arena. We fought well that night.

"The unbeaten (English) champions dropped points for the first time in their season in our ground. Great memory."

The striker netted twice during the clash on a night Pep Guardiola's side were left sweating.
