Volunteers from the Oldham Mountain Rescue Team (OMRT) were called to help a man who fell into a brook at Dovestone Reservoir on Christmas Day.
OMRT were contacted by Greater Manchester Police on Sunday afternoon for assistance with the evacuation of the lost male.
Thirteen personnel from the voluntary organisation attended, who remained on scene for one hour and 45 minutes.

The man had become separated from companions whilst walking in the Dovestones area and was reported to have fallen into Chew Brook.
He was located by the National Police Air Service helicopter and GMP officers on the ground, but required help from the mountain rescue team to find a route out.
Dispatched to the scene, volunteers were able to locate the man’s friends on the way to rescuing him.
“They were put into one of the team’s Land Rovers to warm up while the rest of the team members continued to the casualty,” Rob Tortoishell, mountain rescue’s team leader, explained.
“He was escorted to the safety of one of our team vehicles for an assessment, before being taken back to base to get warmed up and handed over to North West Ambulance Service for onward transport to hospital for further checks."
Mr Tortoishell said OMRT’s volunteers often receive calls around the festive period and this was the second year in a row they had been called out on Christmas day.
He added: “This was a great example of inter-agency working to find the best outcome for the casualty. And a huge thank you to the member of the public who gave us mince pies and biscuits at Dovestones car park.
“It is the second year in a row we have had a callout on Christmas Day, and while we don't mind turning out no matter when it is, we are hoping it isn't the start of a new annual tradition.”
The Manchester Evening News has also contacted Greater Manchester Police for information.
