A driver "lacking any driving skills" crashed into two cars after a police pursuit through a housing estate. The chase happened in the early hours of Sunday after officers carried out a routine check on a car travelling along Gwaelodygarth in Merthyr Tydfil.
A South Wales Police spokesman said: "On seeing the police car the driver made off, leading to a pursuit in the area. The car finally came to a halt having collided with two other stationary vehicles."
The force said the pursuit took place around the Gurnos estate as well as the Twyn area. Following the crash the two occupants of the car fled the scene on foot. Officers found "a quantity of cannabis" in the car.
