Motorcyclist dies following morning crash with lorry near Scottish town

A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a crash with a lorry in South Ayrshire as police appeal for information.

Police were called to the B730 near its junction with the A719 at Fair to Tarbolton at around 9am on Friday, following a report of a crash involving a red Zontes ZT125 motorcycle and a black DAF lorry.

Emergency services attended to the 35-year-old rider of the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for 10 hours as detectives carried out their investigations into the incident and was reopened at around 7pm.

Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.

“Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash are continuing and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to please contact us.

“In addition, anyone with dash-cam footage which may have captured anything relevant is asked to come forward.”
