Motorcyclist, 29, dies after horror collision as BMW driver arrested

A motorcyclist died in hospital after a collision with a BMW on a main road. The 29-year-old, who had been rushed to hospital with serious injuries, died a short while after the crash on Friday (March 31).

Emergency services rushed to the scene on the Haslington Bypass (A534) near Crewe at around 11.20pm, where it was established there had been a collision between a white BMW M2 and a small motorcycle.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics at Leighton Hospital, the 29-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead a short time later. Police arrested a 33-year-old man from Crewe on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving. He has since been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
