The Motor1.com team is scattered all over the globe. Even here in the US, we have editors in Los Angeles, a couple in Detroit, folks in Florida, Ohio, and more. And, we all love talking about what we're driving. The Test Car Happy Hour on Thursdays at 2:30 PM Eastern (11:30 AM Pacific) is where we have a face-to-face digital car meet. You can be part of the conversation by joining us during the show on Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube. Your comments automatically go into our streaming feed where we can see, share, and respond to them.
If you happen to be reading this after the live broadcast has ended, you can also find the audio version of The Test Car Happy Hour on all of your favorite streaming platforms, first thing every Monday morning.
This week we have Motor1.com Editor-in-Chief Seyth Miersma, Managing Editor Brandon Turkus, and Ride Apart Editor-in-Chief Jason Market on the show.
Going alphabetically by automaker, Turkus has the 2023 Audi S6. The new model gains Audi's electric-powered compressor system that uses an electric motor to spin a small turbine to build boost quicker. Audi says the result is sharper throttle response and less noticeable turbo lag, but let's see what Turkus thinks. The engine output remains at 444 hp.
Jason Marker runs our network's motorcycle-focused site, Ride Apart. He's making his first appearance on the show to discuss riding the Honda Monkey. It's an adorable, retro-styled bike in the color combo Pearl Nebula Red and White.
Miersma has two, utilitarian vehicles this week. One of them is a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Cargo Van in a very attractive shade of green. It's the 144-inch version, and the rig's high roof maximizes carrying ability. Miersma recently moved to a new house so the van was likely a helpful tool.
He also has time in a Toyota Tundra pickup with the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with hybrid assistance that makes 437 hp and 583 lb-ft. Like the Sprinter, it was probably useful during the move.
A major reason we do The Test Car Happy Hour every week is to answer your questions. Join us during the stream and let our talented editors share their experiences with you. They're ready to help you.
