Motley Crue turn The Dirt into new 'warts and all' documentary series

Nikki Sixx has teased a "warts and all" documentary series about Motley Crue's hell-raising days.

Based on their 2001 memoir, The Dirt, which was already turned into a musical comedy film in 2019, the new adaptation will feature candid contributions from the Girls, Girls, Girls band's bassist Nikki, drummer Tommy Lee and frontman Vince Neil.

While attending the Jackson Hole International Film Festival to lead a panel about the flick If These Walls Could Rock, Nikki said: “The documentary is about Motley Crue.

“It’s an interesting look at our career and people are going to discover a lot about us and the music and the lyrics.

“Storytelling is really important to me.

“You’re going to hear from the band individually and collectively as we had quite the life. It’s warts and all.”

The biography introduced a new generation to tales of debauchery involving Tommy, who infamously featured in a sex tape with Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson, and Nikki, who once bet with Tommy on who could go the longest time without showering while still sleeping with groupies.

Nikki reflected in an interview with the Daily Express in 2023: “When The Dirt film came out, younger music fans had only kind of heard who Mötley Crüe were.

“When those kids saw the movie, they went: ‘Holy s***! They don’t make bands like that anymore!’

“There are still plenty of kids who love rock'n'roll who are discovering classic rock like us, Guns N’ Roses and Metallica.”
