Motherwell sign former Ross County midfielder as Stuart Kettlewell links up with familiar face

Motherwell boss have signed former Ross County midfielder Harry Paton on a deal until the end of the season.

The free agent has been out of action since last summer, when he turned down a new deal with the Staggies.

It sees the Canadian link up with his old boss Stuart Kettlewell, who brought him to Dingwall and sparked his four-year stay in the Highlands.

The 24-year-old goes straight into the squad for this afternoon's Premiership clash with Hibernian and will bring plenty of experience to the Fir Park squad, having had spells with Fulham, Hearts, Stenhousemuir.

Kettlewell is delighted to link-up with Paton again and told the Motherwell website: “The option arose to get Harry in and it was something we were looking to do quickly.

“He’s someone who I know very well and has impressed since he came in.

“Harry has excellent ability and displayed real quality when I last worked with him and that is something I’m looking for him to replicate once again.

“This is a crucial part of our season and adding Harry gives us more options in the middle of the pitch in what will be a busy schedule from now until the end of the season.”

Paton said: "It’s great to get this deal over the line

“I’m excited to get back playing and help the team finish the season strongly.

“My goal is to show the Motherwell fans what I’m capable of.”
