Motherwell defender departs in '£200k move' as transfer deadline moves gather pace

Motherwell have confirmed the transfer of defender Sondre Solholm to Norwegian side Odds BK ahead of the January transfer window's closure.

Though the Fir Park club say the fee for the 27-year-old Norwegian is undisclosed, it's rumoured to be around £200,000.

Solholm played 22 games for Motherwell this season, scoring once in a 1-0 win at Dundee United in October. In total he made 47 appearances.

Motherwell boss Steven Hammell told the club's website: "Sondre is a great person and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with him.

"He became a real fan favourite in his time here and it shows the lively character that he is.

"I hope this move works out for himself and his family. I wish them all the very best."
