Holiday searches for Mother's Day breaks have surged by 23 per cent this year compared to pre-pandemic levels. Families appear to be treating mums to a well-deserved getaway after the tribulations of lockdown and various restrictions.
A survey of 2,000 adults by Hotels.com also revealed a massive 47 per cent have never taken their mum away for a hotel stay. And it seems the favourite thing about holidaying with mum is spending quality time together (36 per cent).
Premium retreats, with ‘luxury’ and ‘pools’ are in the top three list of amenities with searches for both 5 and 4-star locations increasing since 2019 by 40 per cent and 55 per cent respectively on the Hotels.com site.
