An award-winning butchers shop has come under fire after its own made a Jeffrey Dahmer joke to promote a deal. Gareth Lewis regularly uses social media to advertise and often takes inspiration from trending topics to get people's attention.
In the past, he has referenced Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's queue-jumping saga, as well as a joke in relation to Love Island's Davide at the time show was airing. However, it seems his latest post mocking Netflix series Dahmer, which is based on the real life events of serial killer Jefferey Dahmer rubbed some people up the wrong way, Yorkshire Live reports.
The post for Ponty Butchers showed a picture of actor Evan Peters, who plays notorious serial killer and cannibal Jeffery Dahmer in the hit Netflix drama, alongside a picture of the raw meat package that is on offer inclusive of steak, mince, chicken, sausages etc. Ponty Butchers, as the company goes by on Facebook, captioned the post: "A deal so good it would make Jefferey Dahmer empty his freezer", before proceeding to list the contents and the price of the meat package.
