Experts are moving to remind people of the most common Covid symptoms as cases across the country continue to rise. Over the last week in England, hospital admissions for patients with coronavirus have jumped to 48 per cent, as experts warn that the first winter wave is starting to heavily impact the health service.
Bed occupancy in hospitals for patients with Covid is up 37 per cent compared with the previous seven days, The Mirror reports.
Hospital admission rates are highest in the South East - up 64 per cent - and the Midlands - up 58 per cent - over the same period, according to analysis of NHS figures by the Covid-19 Actuaries Response Group of insurance experts and epidemiologists.
