Most Brits haven't decluttered their home in two-and-a-half years, new study finds

Books, old clothes, and food containers are among the top items littering British households – as the average Brit hasn't had a good clear-out in two-and-a-half years, according to a study.

A poll of 2,000 adults revealed that Brits are hanging on to unused items that are an average of five years old – with one in five (19%) keeping hold of something that hasn't been used in over a decade.

The top reason for not clearing out these objects is just in case they might need it again one day, according to two-thirds (67%) of those polled.
