Most bizarre job interview questions - from Uber rating to favourite Pokemon

Job interviews can leave even the most confident of people with sweaty palms, wondering how best to sell themselves, and whether they're actually doing a good job. But what do you do when your interviewer throws you an absolute curve ball that you weren't expecting?

Sometimes, no matter how much you research the company, or prepare your answers to generic questions, they may ask you something completely random - leaving you totally stumped and wondering how to respond.

Mentoring platform, PushFar, reveals the quirkiest questions Reddit users have been asked in a job interview, and some of them are more bizarre than you'd expect.

Of course, when it comes to job interviews, standing out from the crowd is important - whilst also portraying the best version of ourselves. And it's totally normal to feel nervous, with research highlighting a whopping 93% of people have admitted to feeling anxious before their interview.

Nowadays, no matter how much prep you do, it feels as though employers are thinking more outside of the box when it comes to questions - so it seems impossible to prepare.

Keen to discover some of the weirdest questions ever asked in the interview process, PushFar, has unveiled the top 10 shocking questions that have been used throughout the interview process, according to Reddit.

Here are the top 15 weirdest interview questions ever asked:

  1. 'What's your Uber rating?'
  2. 'How are you at dealing with...stupid people?'
  3. 'If you were a fruit or a vegetable, what would you be and why?'
  4. 'If you could be any of the original 150 Pokémon, which one would you choose?'
  5. 'Do you believe in aliens?'
  6. 'How did you diffuse your last argument with a work colleague?'
  7. 'If you could be any kitchen utensil, what would you be?'
  8. 'What would your nemesis say about you?'
  9. 'If you could be a dog, what breed would you be?'
  10. 'What’s your inner animal?'
  11. 'Tell me a good joke.'
  12. 'If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?'
  13. 'If you could be any part of a McDonald's happy meal, which part would you be, and why?'
  14. 'Do you want this job, or do you need this job?'
  15. 'Convince me to watch your favourite movie.'

Ed Johnson, CEO of PushFar comments: "Remind yourself that interviews are all about selling yourself and putting on your best face to show any prospective employer that you're the right fit for their organisation.

"Whilst strange questions may catch you off guard, it's important to stay true to yourself and remain confident - have fun with the question and if you can, draw it back to your experience and skills.

"Plus, remember an interview is a two-way process, and the interviewer should be doing their best to attract you to the role, so if any question makes you feel uncomfortable, remember you can walk away."
