Scots could be in for good news after Morton Rolls company teased it could be saved from ceasing trading.
Eagle-eyed customers spotted the teaser on the Morton Rolls website this afternoon. It read: "Nae Rolls? Watch this space".
The Glasgow -based business folded last week, putting 250 jobs at risk and threatening to close the Drumchapel factory for good.
However, a source close to the consortium hoping to save the famous crispy roll has stated they hope to be back producing as soon as possible reports Glasgow Live.
Calls were made for the much-loved company to be rescued with Glasgow City Council leader Susan Aitken promising that it was their priority to make sure workers facing job losses are supported "as quickly as possible".
MSP Paul Sweeney also warned this week that "time is of the essence" to secure the factory lease and jobs.
The company was formed in 1965 when it began selling morning rolls, and later branched out into other baked goods. It has been considered a Glasgow institution, and the latest news is a boost for the city.
It comes as a provisional liquidator was appointed.
The unnamed liquidator was appointed when the firm ceased trading last weekend.
Business minister Ivan McKee has said Scottish Enterprise would liaise with the liquidator in the coming days.
