High street supermarkets including the likes of Morrisons, Tesco, Lidl, Waitrose and Co-op, have been among the retailers recalling food items recently. Everything from tinned tuna to pasta sauces, croissants and chicken nuggets have made appearances on the list of items that shoppers have been advised to return to store.
Many of the items have been mis-labelled, meaning that allergy alerts haven't been included on the packaging, others pose a salmonella risk, while some even have the potential to contain small pieces of glass or metal. We've listed some of the most recent alerts below.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) lists the products that pose a risk to consumers. It is a government department responsible for protecting public health in relation to food. It says on its website: "Our fundamental mission is food you can trust".

Advice from the FSA is that if you have any of the products listed, check the batch number and use by date against the information given and if they match you should return the items to your local store for a full refund. So, now is the time to check your cupboards, fridge and pantry's to see if any of the items listed are lurking on your shelves.
