Morrisons The Best Mulled Wine has picked up the Best Mulled Wine award in Good Housekeeping’s annual festive food review. The festive tipple saw off competition from other supermarkets including M&S, Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Aldi, Asda and Waitrose to take top prize.
All wines were blind tested by Good Housekeeping’s panel of accredited expert judges and Morrisons The Best Mulled Wine scored 81/100 with the judges commending the bottle. The panel said: “With gentle notes of cinnamon, clove and sweet red berries, our winning mulled wine smells suitably festive. We suspect this beautifully balanced bottle might go down a little too easily, but at this price we're ready to stock up.”
Emma Jenkinson, Wine Buying Manager at Morrisons, said: “We’ve been working hard all year round to ensure our customers have the perfect bottles to accompany any festive celebration. Our Best Mulled Wine was meticulously developed to bring a delicious balance of soft, fruity and juicy red wine together with Christmas spices. We’re thrilled that it has been celebrated by such a well-respected accolade.”
