If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful lunchtime option, it doesn't get much better than a supermarket meal deal.
There are plenty of different options and endless combinations you can make, meaning they're the ideal on-the-go option or a solid replacement if you haven't prepared anything to take to work with you.
But, as with many other groceries, they're getting more expensive as the days go on - and Morrisons are the latest supermarket to hike the price of their meal deals.
They'll now cost 50p more - but there's a trick shoppers can use to avoid paying the extra. The retailer confirmed that its meal deal now costs £4 compared to the previous price of £3.50.
The price increase came into effect on Monday, March 6. But by signing up to Morrisons' loyalty programme and scanning their app, shoppers can save money and continue to pay the old price for their lunches.
A Morrisons spokesperson said: "Customers who are signed up to our My Morrisons loyalty programme can still purchase our meal deal for £3.50 and our The Best meal deal for £4.00 when scanning their app or card at the till."
The news hasn't done down well with meal deal fans on Twitter, with one person saying: "Morrisons meal deal has gone up to £4... start the rapture." And another wrote: "Morrisons meal deals are now 4 quid fuming. As a meal deal connoisseur I'm disappointed."
Customers can sign up to the My Morrisons programme here and continue to pay £3.50 whenever they want a meal deal. Meanwhile, Morrisons also recently announced it would be introducing a two-course set menu option at its cafes, costing just £8.99 per person.
Customers can enjoy a main course, a hot dessert and a drink included in the price, and the Kids Eat Free offer can also be used alongside this.
Favourite dishes such as fish & chips, lasagne and a roast dinner with all the trimmings can be enjoyed alongside a drink and topped off with a Bramley apple crumble or a sticky toffee pudding - all for under a tenner. The offer lasts until April 2, so worth taking advantage of while you can.
