Morrisons, Lidl and Asda's Coca-Cola recall sparks health warning

Asda, Morrisons, Lidl and Aldi have all recalled multipacks of Coca-Cola Zero after some were mislabelled as zero sugar, when were actually Coca-Cola Original. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) which protects consumers from potentially-dangerous products has this month issued a series of additional recalls on other items that they believe could pose a danger to the public.

The FSA has said that there is a "potential risk" to customers who need to monitor their sugar intake who rely on zero sugar drinks, such as people with diabetes. Anyone who has purchased the 24-can multipack has been advised by Coca-Cola to "not drink" the product and contact them for a replacement.

When an issue is found with a food product that means it legally cannot be sold, then it is 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product). The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food.
