Morrisons has told customers of changes to its My Morrisons loyalty scheme. Shoppers will see more offers on the kind of products they want, as well as changes to the app itself.
There is no change to the way the My Morrisons app and physical card is used, but shoppers will see more offers on meat and dairy products. The supermarket is also launching a new category of 'surprise offers' - like discounts on flowers at Mother’s Day.
It is also bringing in a "Basket Bonus'. This means when a customer scans the app or swipes their loyalty card they will now be in with a chance to bag a bonus offer, MirrorOnline reports.
Morrisons chief customer and marketing officer Rachel Eyre said: “We know that this is a very tough time for customers and so our improved My Morrisons scheme will help the millions of customers who are part of it by rewarding them with instant offers when they shop.
"We have taken on board customer feedback about which categories are the most relevant and have also introduced unexpected surprises to put a smile on our customers’ faces.”
The My Morrisons barcode has been added to the home screen so it is quicker for customers to find at checkout and Morrisons has simplified the sign-up process.
Existing Morrisons card users will need to update their app to get the new My Morrisons perks. My Morrisons launched in 2016 as Morrisons More. Previously, shoppers could collect points to turn into vouchers - but this has now switched to instant money-off discounts.
The discounts are personalised, which means they are based on what you typically buy. Morrisons is also encouraging people to use its app rather than carry a physical card - although it has backtracked on initial plans to stop producing replacement cards.
