CONTENT WARNING: This article discusses alleged domestic violence.

Taylor Frankie Paul has quit social media after a slew of recent controversies, with one of her last online interactions being the denial that she has been axed from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

ICYMI: earlier this week, it was revealed that production for season five of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is set to resume after it was abruptly “shut down” due to an “open assault investigation” involving Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen, though it was reported that neither Paul nor Mortensen would be involved in the new season.

Paul then refuted the claim on a post about the revival, writing: “Interesting, that’s not the call I got”. Shortly after, she quit TikTok and Instagram, with a source claiming she’s taking a pause from social media for her mental health.

“Taylor is a taking a breather,” the source told PEOPLE. “It’s been a lot last couple months to consume and will be back shortly to continue sharing her story. She’ll decide when the time is right to return to filming on Secret Lives.”

According to PEOPLE, Hulu is set to put the foot back on the pedal for the production of the hit show’s fifth season after it was abruptly put on hold following an alleged on-set incident between the exes.

At the time, TMZ reported that filming had stopped after Paul and Mortensen got into a “heated blow-up” on set.

Alongside the alleged incident, Paul and Mortensen were involved in an active domestic assault investigation linked to an incident that took place in February 2026.

The Draper City Police Department in Utah confirmed to PEOPLE that “there is an open ‘domestic assault investigation’” and that “allegations have been made in both directions”, adding that officers made contact with the parties on February 24 and 25, but would not release further details while the case is ongoing.

In an update on April 14 (local time), prosecutors revealed they will not be pressing any criminal charges against Paul.

When it was made public that production for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season five was put on hold, Paul told Good Morning America that “it’s hard to see past this, in this moment, it’s really heavy”.

Paul’s fellow Mormon Wives co-stars also distanced themselves from her at the time, while keeping her children in their thoughts and prayers.

“My personal history as a survivor makes it impossible for me to stay silent. I stand firmly against domestic violence in any form”, Layla Taylor wrote in a statement shared on her Instagram Stories.

Miranda McWhorter also shared her on IG Story statement, writing that “everything has been really heavy to see”.

“Domestic violence and abuse of any kind is something I take very seriously… As a human, and especially a mother, I cannot support that kind of behaviour. My heart is with the children in this, and I hope they’re safe, supported, and surrounded by love,” she penned.

When asked by her followers if production for season five had been put on hold, Mikayla Matthews said, “It was a decision that all us girls came up with and agreed on”.

“We didn’t feel comfortable filming with everything that was happening,” she said in response to an IG Q&A.

Will Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen be in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5?

Speaking to PEOPLE, a source claims that the show will continue filming without Paul or Mortensen. However, it’s unknown if it will edit out parts they’ve already filmed with the exes.

Alongside the March limbo of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Paul’s season of The Bachelorette was also axed just days before it was set to premiere on March 22 after TMZ released footage from a 2023 incident involving Mortensen and Paul.

The footage depicted Paul throwing metal chairs at Mortensen, with her daughter crying in the background.

Paul previously pleaded guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault in that matter, with other charges dropped, and remains on probation as a result.
