Alfredo Morelos has broken his silence over his involvement in an alleged drink driving accident.
The former Rangers forward was arrested last week after his car collided with a motorcyclist in Rionegro, Antioquia in Colombia. He has been gathering advice after his arrest over the legality of his failed breathalyser test, according to reports in his homeland.
He is currently on loan at Colombian side Atletico Nacional with the club set to hold a disciplinary meeting on Friday to decide the 28-year-old’s future.

Now Morelos has spoken out about the incident for the first time. In a statement posted on social media, he said: “I want to share with you that, days ago, I was involved in a traffic accident while I was on my way to training. Although it was an unexpected and unfortunate situation, unfortunately, one person was injured. Since that moment, I have been committed to collaborating with his recovery and to providing my full disposition to the authorities so that the facts are clarified fairly.
“I sincerely regret any inconvenience this incident may have caused to the club and my teammates. I deeply appreciate the support you have always given me and I regret having caused concern to those who trust in my commitment. It is clear to me how much this jersey means to me and how much I value each member of the team.
