More tickets to be released for Peter Kay’s Dance For Life charity bash

A raft of new tickets have been released for Peter Kay’s charity event Dance For Life, taking place at Manchester Central over the Easter weekend. The show, which has been rescheduled from 2020, is a three hour ‘dance-a-thon’, with the Bolton stand up icon delivering both comedy and DJ skills.

The new tickets will be for the shows on Good Friday (April 15) and Easter Saturday (April 16). More tickets have also been released for the two dates in Liverpool too, at the Space by M&S Bank arena, on August 19 and 20.

"I’ve honestly never had so much fun as I had working on Dance For Life. The atmosphere was so happy and positive; it really is a great way to raise money for the worthiest of causes. All people have to do is turn up and dance,” said Kay, who goes under the name DJ PK for the shows.

“I’d also like to encourage people to get themselves sponsored via JustGiving.com where a special Dance For Life team page has been set up.”

Kay has been doing his Dance For Life shows since 2016, and has sold more than 75,000 tickets, raising money for Cancer Research UK. “I’d seen the huge success of Race for Life, raising money for Cancer Research,” he said.

“I thought what if that concept was applied to dancing by putting huge discos in arenas. People could get together, dance and raise money. It’d just be like being on a night out but raising money and having a good time.”

Tickets cost £28.50, and are available now from See Tickets and Ticketmaster, though his show at Alexandra Palace in London on April 29 is now completely sold out.

As for what he plays at the shows, he added: “Everything and anything that’s classic dance from the last four decades. No show is ever the same and that’s what makes it so special. The production values are enormous too.

“You’ve got to keep people entertained for over three hours, so we’ve gone to town on all the lights and visuals. It’s pretty spectacular.”
