More than 1,500 North East jobs created by growing companies in March

At least 1,500 new jobs have been announced in the North East this month, with major employers leading the recruitment drives.

Leisure, care and property business Malhotra Group announced plans to create 200 new jobs after securing a £23m finance package.

The Newcastle based business, which owns the Three Mile in Gosforth and city centre venues Grey Street Hotel, Leila Lily’s, obtained the funding package from HSBC UK, which will help it move forward projects including the regeneration of the former Sandpiper pub in Cullercoats, the Market Lane pub in Newcastle, and the New Northumbria Hotel in Jesmond.
