More sunshine and clear skies for Leeds on Tuesday - but it won't last

The sun has been beaming across Leeds this weekend, and the good news is that it is here to stay.

For most areas of the city it will be a generally clear day with bright and sunny spells. Some areas will also see highs of 15C so it is time to ditch your jackets and put some sunglasses on.

However there could be potential of some isolated showers in areas. A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Sunny spells with isolated showers in the morning, these mostly clearing by mid afternoon. Cooler than of late."

Residents should enjoy the Monday heat while it lasts; from Tuesday, heavy showers are set to return in some areas. Here is a breakdown of what to expect where you are in Yorkshire today (Monday, May 15).

From 6am this morning the sun will be beaming in the city for four hours. From 10am the brightness will dim and it will generally be fine and dry with some cloud.

More sunny intervals are expected around 3pm and residents should be aware there could be some light rain around 8pm. Temperatures will start out around 7C before warming up to highs of 14C and 15C later in the day.
