Penrith's gloom at being condemned to the bottom of the NRL ladder has been compounded with Scott Sorensen now facing a two-match ban.

The four-time and defending premiers' 26-10 defeat by Manly on Saturday night left them reeling with a 2-6 season record and sitting stone last.
