More Edinburgh roadworks and street closures due to final phase of Leith trams

Due to tram works, parts of Elm Row and Leith Walk will be closed from Monday 24 October for approximately three weeks.

The City of Edinburgh Council have announced all southbound traffic will close between Picardy Place turn back and Annandale Street from Monday.

This is for final surfacing and lining works and involves a closure of the southbound carriageway but the Picardy Place turn back will remain operational throughout the duration of these works.

During this phase of construction the project's standard working hours will be extended on Saturdays and Sundays. Hours of work will be from 8am to 5pm.

There will be diversion signage installed in the local area to inform road users of the recommended route.

The main diversion route for southbound cyclists will be Annandale Street, East London Street, Broughton Street, Albany Street, Abercromby Place.

A number of Leith buses will also be diverted during this time and Lothian Buses have confirmed diverted routes in place.

Services N106 N113 N124 – between Waverley Steps and Abbeyhill, buses will be diverted via Waterloo Place, Regent Road and Montrose Terrace in both directions.

Services 7 10 11 14 16 N14 N16 N22 Southbound – between Leith Walk and Leith Street, buses will be diverted via Annandale Street, East London Street and Broughton Street.
