FC Luzern have confirmed they have a purchase option on Nottingham Forest defender Mohamed Drager, following his loan move.
The right-back completed a switch to the Swiss side earlier today, joining a number of other players in departing the City Ground during the past month.
Announcing his signing, Luzern said he will spend the rest of the season with them and they have “a purchase option for a permanent takeover” of Drager at the end of the campaign.
The Tunisia international joined the Reds from fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned outfit Olympiacos last summer, but has yet to get out on the pitch.
The length of his Forest contract was not disclosed when he signed, and there’s now every chance he will leave without playing a single game for the club.
"With Mohamed we were able to sign a fast and agile full-back who can help us immediately in our current situation," Luzern sports director Remo Meyer said on the team’s official website.
"We are convinced of his qualities on the right flank and hope that this will give us additional variability in our game."
Drager has recently been on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, having recovered from injury and from testing positive for Covid-19.
He had been linked with a move away for much of January, with Esperance Sportive de Tunis, Caen, Saint-Etienne, Rijeka and Standard Liege all credited with an interest.
He follows Jayden Richardson, Tyrese Fornah, Carl Jenkinson, Jordan Wright, Lyle Taylor and Joao Carvalho in heading elsewhere this winter, while Jordi Osei-Tutu returned to parent club Arsenal and Rodrigo Ely’s contract was terminated by mutual consent.
