Aleksandar Vukic, Jordan Thompson and Rinky Hijikata are the latest Australians to move into the second round of the ATP Tour event in Mexico.
A day after Thanasi Kokkinakis and Max Purcell progressed, Vukic wrapped up a successful Wednesday (AEDT) at the Los Cabos Open by defeating local teen Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (12-10).
The 27-year-old from Sydney was down four set points in the second-set tiebreaker, before taking out the clash in two hours 19 minutes on his second match point to book his place in round two and a date with second-seeded Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Thompson, the eighth seed, defeated Mexican wildcard Ernesto Escobedo 6-4 6-3 to set up a meeting with American qualifier Emilio Nava, who beat Argentine Diego Schwartzman 6-4 6-3.
After tallying a career-best 15 ATP-level wins last season, Thompson has recorded nine already so far in 2024.
"I've played a lot of matches and I'm match fit at the moment," the 29-year-old said after his 104-minute victory.
"Why not keep it rolling."
Hijikata needed an extra 10 minutes on court to defeat Serbian sixth seed Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3 7-6 (7-2) and next plays American qualifier Aleksandar Kovacevic.
It was a fifth career win against a top-60 player for the 22-year-old and sets up a second-round clash with American qualifier Aleksandar Kovacevic.
Australia's top-ranked male, third seed and world No.9 Alex de Minaur, begins his campaign in the last 16 on Thursday against American teenager Alex Michelsen.
Elsewhere on day five of competition, there were straight-sets wins for Portugal's Nuno Borges, Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka and American Marcos Giron.
