Moose charges onto children's football pitch as parents and kids flee for safety

This is the moment a moose crashes a children's football game as parents flee for safety.

Young footballers were given the shock of their lives at the weekend when a moose ran on the field during their football match in Wyoming.

Horrified mums and dads were scrambling to get the players off the pitch as footage captured by Barbara Allen shows the sudden disruption to the game.

Children are seen screaming in the footage as the moose runs around the field.

The mum posted the video to Facebook, which has been viewed over 120,000 times, with the caption: "Fifa moose" as she narrated the video and jokingly said "soccer is momentarily paused".

According to Trent Hultman, executive director of Jackson Hole Youth Soccer, fortunately no one was injured and the game was resumed once the moose had vacated the pitch.

However, one man came to the rescue after turning up on an electric bike and is seen guiding the moose off the field to allow play to resume.

The video went viral on social media as thousands of people commented on the man who bravely went towards the moose.

One user asked: "Who’s the idiot on the bicycle?” but others were praising him as he came to the rescue: “I’ve seen a moose head butt a car.”

The real discussion came when people joked if the moose was playing in defence or attack.

It led to others discussing what they would have done if a moose suddenly appeared.

One user said: “I think your first reaction is what most people in Jackson think when they see a beautiful bull moose: ‘Wow, that’s a beautiful bull moose with a big paddle'."

Another added: "Wow, that’s a beautiful bull moose with a big paddle running through a group of children.”

The sighting comes just days after a moose was spotted in nearby Montana interrupting another football match.

Rocky Mountain College uploaded a video which shows the moose heading towards the pitch as they warned the public to keep their distance and to head indoors.

In a post online the college said: "“Remember, this is a wild animal. If you see it, keep your distance and ideally go indoors.

“Please, resist the temptation to approach it in the name of getting a better picture. Moose can be extremely dangerous, especially when agitated.”

Social media users were quick to respond to the moose on the loose as one said: "I love living in Montana" and another: "In my two years in Montana I ain't seen no moose walking through campus."

Whilst another joked the moose was most likely heading back to the building for a "health class".
