Open Beta Dates
North America's open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to get in on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, until Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, according to Polygon.
On the other hand, the other platforms and non-PlayStation Plus users will be able to play the open beta starting on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, until Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024. Europe and Japan will open their respective servers a day later.
Start Times
On the dates mentioned above, the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta will begin at 8:00 p.m. PDT for North America's west coast and 11:00 p.m. EDT for the east coast. For Western Europe and Paris, it will start at 5:00 a.m.
Players in the United Kingdom will be able to get into the open beta at 4:00 a.m. BST while Japan and Tokyo fans can access it at 12:00 p.m. JST. Many people are expecting server issues immediately after the servers are opened due to the high demand.
Do I Need To Pre-Order?
With how many games nowadays require players to pre-order a title before being able to play an early preview, many Monster Hunter Wilds fans are worried about the situation. Fortunately, Capcom reiterated that the open beta will be completely free, Games Radar said.
The game's official social media account answered queries about the issue, adding that players who do want to pre-order the game are free to do so after the open beta.
What is in the Open Beta?
The Monster Hunter Wilds open beta will include a small portion of the full game but will have three main features. First is a full character customization option where players can take their creations into the full game.
The second is that they will be able to play through the tutorial Chatacabra quest to learn the controls in Monster Hunter Wilds. Lastly the main quest featured in the open beta is the Alpha Doshaguma hunt.
Players can play the open beta either solo or in online multiplayer as Capcom has enabled crossplay for the early preview of the game. Participants will also get a unique Pendant that will be useable in the full game, according to the PlayStation Blog.
