A lot of new monsters and other content were added with the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion, including the final boss, Gaismagorm.

This particular monster is a powerful beast that is known for having complete control of the Quiro within the game's lore. In order to save Elgado, players are tasked with slaying Gaismagorm once and for all.

The Abyssal Archdemon is a challenging monster in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak and lives up to his status as the final boss. It has powerful attacks that hit large areas and the fight itself was designed to be relatively lengthy.

This guide helps players learn about Gaismagorm's weaknesses and resistances as well as the monster's attack patterns. Various recommendations will be detailed here to make your hunt for the final boss more reliable.

Gaismagorm's Weakness

The final boss of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is weakest to the Dragon element, followed by the Thunder element. Gaismagorm's main weak point is its head for all damage types, followed by its neck, wingarm, and tail tip, according to The Gamer.

If you plan on using status ailments, you should note that the best ones to use are Blast and Iceblight. You should probably avoid using any other form of status ailment as Gaismagorm is fairly resistant to them.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the final boss is completely immune to Water and Ice elements, so do not use weapons that have them.

Fighting Gaismagorm

When you start the fight with the boss monster, you should be prepared for a long fight, particularly if you have not yet fully maxed out your weapons and optimized your armor skills, Rock Paper Shotgun said.

Gaismagorm has three phases and uses various gimmicks that can catch hunters off guard if they are not careful. The good news is that you can use a farcaster to go back to camp to restock when you need to.

The first phase of the fight shows the boss as slow and not very intimidating other than its size.

During this time, Gaismagorm will use claw slams and demon-fire explosions. You can break off the red crystals that cover the monster's back and arms so you can deal more damage.

After you reduce the boss to 40% of its maximum health, the fight will shift to the second phase.

Gaismagorm will fall to a lower stage and you will have to chase after it to continue the battle. This phase introduces some new attacks such as slamming down its claws several times.

The monster can now also spit fire upwards to make it rain small meteors that you should avoid. One recommended tactic for this is hiding under Gaismagorm itself so as not to get hit by the fire. Dealing more damage will force the monster to climb up the cliff face.

You will now be able to use mounted turrets to shoot the Qurio spots on the boss monster's back.

Be wary of the Qurio projectiles that you can destroy using the turret. You should retreat when the Qurio emerges from Gaismagorm's body because it will unleash a beam attack.

When you destroy all three weak spots, the monster will fall and land on the turrets, destroying them and making them unusable. This is the third phase of the fight and features a much more enraged Gaismagorm.

The monster will start adding more explosions to its attacks, making avoiding them even more important.

It can now crawl around the arena while leaving fireballs that remain in their places. You should look for a safe spot before all of the fireballs explode, according to Gaming Bolt.

Continue dealing damage to Gaismagorm in this way and you will eventually succeed in defeating this massive monster. This finishes the game's storyline and begins your end-game grind to become even stronger.
