Chester Zoo monkey batters seagull to death as horrified family looks on

A mum has when she suddenly caught a "seagull getting mauled" by a monkey.

Bec Adamson was at Chester Zoo with her son on Saturday, February 26 when she caught the monkey grab the bird on video.

Bec, from Northwich, Cheshire, said: "It was like watching the real King Kong. He was really slamming it against the pole and pulling at its feathers. It was just really aggressive and mad.

"We'd just been to see the rhinos, so we were walking across, then I saw all these seagulls circling and then this monkey caught one as it was flying past. It was really clever."

Road blocked after Arriva bus and lorry crash

Arriva bus and lorry crash on the junction of Mill Lane and New Street (Liverpool ECHO)

A road was blocked this morning after a crash between an Arriva bus and a lorry.

Emergency services were called to reports of a crash at the junction of Mill Lane and New Street, in St Helens, at around 7.45am.

A spokesperson for Arriva said: "I can confirm we are aware of the incident that occurred at approximately 9am on our service 32 at Mill Lane in St Helens.

"We are currently assisting the police to investigate the cause of the collision, we can confirm no injuries have been reported and the bus has been recovered from the scene."

Couple with 31 dogs forced to leave 'uninhabitable' home

A couple who own 31 dogs are trying to find a new home after being forced out of their current property.

Sue Bell, 54, and Dave Haywood, 56, are behind the UK's only dalmatian sanctuary.

Sue said: "We live in a stable that is down a bridleway. No one will deliver anything.

''A few weeks ago we had an electrical fire, and we were very lucky that Dave and I were awake otherwise who knows what could have happened.''
